The Wild Revolve Poems 20112013 Red Fox Runs Volume 1 Joseph Adam Lee 9781946673992 Books
Joseph Adam Lee's "The Wild Revolve" demands to be read aloud- lines of perfect, unforced content flow smoothly, like a lyrical, existential journal entry. When reading the poem book, I kept pausing to recite the verse, repeatedly, with different point of emphasis, with each repetition revealing a different purpose for why the short essays had to be written.Throughout the poetry collection, there's a logical progression of thoughts and ideas, with recurring use of personification of everyday elements of big-city life, such as a lonely park bench. The author uses metaphors to reveal great truths about the harsh realities of living in a competitive environment, whether referring to the shackles of the corporate world or the impossible quest of finding someone with whom to connect while being constantly surrounded by everyone, and various other NYC tropes. Within the first few lines, Lee's figurative language transports his readers to his world where they can live vicariously through his adventures, triumphs, struggles and lessons. This was a refreshing, honest read- highly recommended.

The Wild Revolve Poems 20112013 Red Fox Runs Volume 1 Joseph Adam Lee 9781946673992 Books Reviews
This millennial poet writes about the high and lows of making it in New York City. The writing is pure and original - a style completely his own that makes it relatable to anyone. I like the poem "Park Bench" - it is graceful, sad and simple. I was surprised how much I enjoyed all his works.
In the most elegant way possible, the author rips apart his country, New York City and most importantly... himself. A poem book like no other... I really like the fusion of graphics and words. So cool! I'm excited to see more! The Wild Revolve Poems 2011-2013 (Red Fox Runs) (Volume 1)
Joseph Adam Lee's writing has a way of making you feel as though you're living in the moment of each passage. His ability to describe the hustle and loneliness of NYC is so hauntingly real that you forget you're reading and are brought back to some similar moment in time in your own life. Looking forward to what's in store with the rest of this honest series.
A poetic style so pure, you can't help but turn to the next page. I felt like I knew the author personally. He allows you to tap into all the emotional baggage and pain of living in New York City. I personally really enjoyed "Fire Breathers"- it's something that will stick with me for a while. A few love poems are also especially well written.
I love the cover and content! I think poetry is important because unlike novels they take you to a place of deep thought & reflection. The poem, "Departure Time 1026 p.m. / Arrival Time Unknown" resonates with me because I often have the fear of settling, in all aspects of life - love, friendships, family, career, etc. In the end it's all ok in the grand scheme of things, regardless of the path you choose, but it's hard for thinkers and dreamers to not contemplate it. Maybe it's also the perfectionist in me?

"So do it already...otherwise you're wasting time"
I'll go ahead and use one of his own quotes. I'm an entrepreneur and busy like anyone else, but I constantly look for things to ease my busy mind. Reading is actually quite difficult for me to do, in the sense of finding time to focus on things outside of work. That being said, I find great relaxation from it. This was recommended to me from a colleague and I'm very please I took him up on it. Looks like there are more books on the horizon. Anxious to get into them as well.
Get ready to be moved and to be motivated.
There is a profound simplicity and purity of expression in Lee's work that reminds me a lot of Bukowski. Each poem is packed with subliminal and subtle themes of human emotion, nature and vulnerability. They're so subtle, you're forced to read each poem at least twice, but you do not mind doing so.
In the Ledge Awaits Our Leap, Lee brings to the forefront the idea that we are all just one step, or one leap, away from greatness. How does Lee define greatness? It's not so much the destination, but merely making the leap into the unknown. Where we land, we do not know. And that's okay.
Reading The Wild Revolve, you tap into Lee's psyche, his personality, his emotions and tribulations. Through this connect, we more deeply tap into ours.
I look forward to reading more from this up-and-comer writer/poet.
